Dr. Hooyman directs the Backpack Lab at Chapman University where he investigates how web-based assessments that measure individual motor skill and cognition can assist in the early detection of cognitive decline. The philosophy of the Backpack lab is to create research products that can fit within a backpack so they can readily be utilized within the community. Dr. Hooyman is an accredited statistician through the American Statistical Association (GStat), and was previously a TA for ReproRehab since its inception in 2022.
